Projects for the long weekend - and Glory turns 5 months old!!!

My goal for my long weekend was to take possession of my back bedroom - thus "Project Back Bedroom" began! :)

These are the before....  things that didn't have a home when I moved in, went into this room.  It became a nightmare before I knew it....

And this is 'in progress'....

(Mason supervising to make sure I stayed on task, of course)

Mia keeping me motivated

So once I got things organized (somewhat), I started painting...
This is the morning after I painted two walls (that's all the paint I had in that color)

And this is what was left for me to paint

A contrast of the day 1 paint to no paint

Cleaning off the big book shelf was quite the task....  but Mason was a good helper ;-)

Mia not sure she wants to venture in any farther.....

"I'm a GOOD helper, right mom??"

The Supervisors

Started mixing up the color - thought it looked pretty!
I used the same color as what I put in my living room (figured I'd might as well use colors I already had instead of going out and buying new paint).

And here it is : wet, but done...!

Day 1 paint + day 2 paint = DONE PAINTING!!!

So as the paint dried (yes, I was waiting for paint to dry), I decided to go outside with the dogs since it was so nice out....  The silly little girls decided to chill in the dirt.

I wanted to snap a picture of Glory under the tree when the chicken wire got my attention.....

And thus started another project.....

Sedona is a silly creature - sunning her black self....  she's a desert rat to the N'th degree...

Baby Glory enjoying the shade of the tree

And Mason too (he's no fool, unlike his mother)

Closer...  relaxing in the cool dirt (trees were irrigated yesterday) under the shade of the tree

And closer yet!

The kids, scattering

More just randomness in the yard

As I was taking the chicken wire down, I saw this bug.... figured he was photo worthy.....

The little girls decided to camp under the peach tree nearest where I was working.....

Again, laying in the cool damp dirt under a tree - smart kid!

Ah Mia.  :)

I also started another project today, which quickly came to a stop.  This tree (a plum tree, I believe) died, so I started cutting down branches.  Earlier this morning all I saw was a tail in the nest.  "Great - a bird DIED in the nest??"  until I gave the tree a good tap and the bird flew off.  She must have eggs in there.  So I was cutting down branches on the other side of the tree until the saw caught my left thumb knuckle.  Stopped that project quickly.
So this afternoon when I was out doing "Project deconstruct chicken coop" I snapped some photos of the birdie in her nest....

Grow peaches, Grow!!!!!

Smart little doggies laying in the shade

"Project deconstruct chicken coop" in process.  It's all just chicken wire which was coming apart at all the seams.  The dogs run through it in random spots, and I keep having nightmares about someone getting poked in the eye by chicken wire.  Time for it to come down.

Handsome Mason laying in the shade :)

Oh, and Happy 5 months, Glory!!! :)

Yer so darned pretty, baby GlowWorm!

4 little Cardi's sittin' on the porch....

the nosey crew out to check out the rolled up chicken wire..

And Glory watching them run off....

It must have passed Chance's inspections.
Big side all down....

And while I was at it, I went ahead and removed the other side too.  Now there is a gate and poles left....  and that eye sore of an actual chicken coop.  That'll be another project for another time.
