a trip down memory lane...

I grew up here in Queen Creek, and it's been really cool to watch it grow and change.... I've been meaning to get by where I grew up... mostly to take pictures. They're tearing it down finally. It is a good sized chunk of land, and people are building out here like CRAZY (yea, even still!).

This is the nearest intersection where I grew up... There are Pecan orchards (that they're building high priced homes in now) on the left, and subdivisions on the right (used to be potato fields). Just past the intersection where the palm trees are is where I grew up...

A picture from the barricade that closes off this once very busy trailer park. Most of the trailers are gone, but what is left has been torn up and with very few exceptions, knocked down.
I decided to get out of the car and take a walk in my old stomping grounds. There was no one around and despite the "No Trespassing" sign, I decided it couldn't hurt anything...

This is a picture of the "1st row". There were 3 "rows" in the main part of the park... the "old" part. While we lived there, they added on the "new" part, just to the south of us. As you can see, things are all torn up, over grown, and honestly, it's an eye sore. This is a picture of the pool building. There were trailers all up and down these rows... and a little brick building that had bathrooms and then the pool....
All that's left is the pool....
This is where our trailer sat. We were number 78. The concrete fence was not there, and that was all open desert. My friend Amber and I used to walk in the desert A LOT.

The view straight out from our old space.
and towards the main road (north)
I decided to head back to the car, closing this little chapter...

I lived there from 1987-1993 when I went to college... came to that home until after I graduated from NAU in 1997. In 1998 I packed my things and left Sanokai Village and never went back... Here we are 10 years later... my oh my how time changes things....

the babies at 5 days!

Pictures were posted today, so I lifted them and posted them here to supply you all with a puppy fix ;-)
