I got back from my dad's house yesterday afternoon... overall it was a great trip. I got to see all of my brothers and sisters, and all of their kids... all but Brandon. I think I got at least one picture of each of the kids :)
Dad isn't well, but I didn't expect him to be. It was great to see him though, just in case... and the visit meant a lot more to him than I knew... so that was great... for both of us.
I have some pictures up on the web.... if you're grossly interested in seeing my goofy family, drop me an email and I will give you the link.
And in putting those pictures up I had a startling wake up call when I saw the picture of myself... disgraceful. This must change. By this summer, when I go back up for my step mom's family reunion in July, I will have lost weight. Oh my dear god I didn't know I had gotten that bad. Whew.
With all the rain and crap that I've seen the PNW get this year, I start to ask myself "do i really want to live there?" Overall, I have it pretty good here, weather wise. I'd like seasons though. I've been giving some random thoughts to moving to southern Virginia... to be closer to the family and my dad for one, but also because...let's be honest... I don't have any reason NOT to! I'd might as well. I dunno. I do know that I don't want to be HERE long term... so i'm brainstorming. I do that well... now acting on those things... I don't do that so well ;-)
I read the AKC gazette from cover to cover for the first time ever... while on the plane. The dachshund standard is adding a disqualification of "Knucling over of front legs". I almost cheered out loud on the plane! I think Cardigans need this added to our standard!
Also, in the Kerry Blue Terrier's column, they had a column called "The sportsmans challenge" where they talked about sportsmanship and the lack there of... just got me to thinking of some recent experiences i've been dealing with... plus it's always good to put yourself in check... ask yourself if you're behaving like a good sportsman. (despite the fact that others around you may not be).
Enough rambling... must get ready for bed.
