Let the Panting Begin....

So let's just start off by saying “Sedona won a major yesterday!!!!!!!” HOORAY!!!!

Just as Cardigans are starting, all of a sudden someone says “who is #18?” “the major broke?!”. Crap. The major broke? What?

So Jennifer (Roberson) and I go to the table and look to see who #18 is... she is looking at the catalog and I said “Is it Sedona?”

Yes.

It was Sedona's number. I asked the steward if I could take the number, it was my dog. She gave me the number and someone said “Oh he's over there”. They pulled Curtiss over closer and he looked (down) at me and said “she's in season”. Great. GREAT. Dang it. She's early.

The grass was half dead and was catching on all the dogs... so I picked the spoiled princess up and asked Carol to take our picture... :)

Piper is a character... charming every person she meets. I had Sue take Piper in to Winners for me, since Curtiss and Sedona were in there too... Piper has NO problems playing dog show with anyone, thankyouverymuch! "Oh you want to be my friend?? Oooh you have food too? I LOVE YOU"

This is Dani. She lets Darci live with her. She is a Preston x Velvet puppy. She is quite a character!! :) She picked up a major in Scottsdale earlier this month.
I've gotten a couple of great movement shots of Sedona! I'm impressed! She looks great, aside from losing all her hair and being a tad thin, in my opinion...

Sedona won her class again, which was awesome to watch, knowing that this could be the last time she had to do it. Winners came in (there were 4 black girls and 2 brindle girls – 3 of the 4 black girls had TAN POINTS. How often does THAT happen? Half of the WB class was tan pointed!) and she (Katie Gammill) WORKED those dogs and handlers! I don't think I breathed during Winners! Piper was having a great time with Sue. The judge really looked hard at ALL of the dogs... but in the end, the Bred By bitch (owned by Karen Harbert) went Winners. One more time around (because they hadn't gone around 4 times already?) and she chose Piper for Reserve. I had to look twice. Piper?? Goofy “you-know-you-love-me” Piper? Wow, AWESOME! She really did look hard at Piper in Winners.. it was nice. Sedona showed like a champ, and Curtiss really worked her today.
I decided to take a new route home. I had found some highways that took me through Florence and down into Oracle.. it took me by the Catalina Mountains and Mount Lemmon.

This was a pretty shot of a church with the snow of Mt. Lemmon in the background....
The Catalina Mountains... I was trying to show how green everything is...
This road into Florence was called the Pinal Pioneer Parkway...
more green desert... while the greenery is lovely and the wildflowers are awesome, it's going to be a scary fire season here... :(
"It's tough to be a show dog" Piper says... notice that Piper has the seat and Sedona has the floor?
Something isn't right in this picture... did anyone else take a 2nd look?? There were a few photo ops of this "phenomena"... that's just not right...
(the Saguaro among the pine trees... just not "normal")

and the ribbons Curtiss had bundled up for me today, no doubt, in hopes of sending it all home with her after the show... alas, she'll have to go back out with him at least one more time...
I feel like I was JUST in this position... hunting for that last major... oh wait. I WAS!

Wish us luck! :)
