Chance won his first major today under judge David Bolus - taking Winners Dog/Best of Winners!!! :)
We had photos taken, so hopefully they come out nice... :)
Now for the STORY of the trip:
We left Friday afternoon - all started out well. Before long I was asking myself "holy CRAP, just how far out in the middle of no where can we get????" :)
We got to the Red Roof Inn (off of I-25 and Candelaria) fairly late (8:30-9:00 local time?). Upon checking in, I found out my original room was "double booked". They put me in another room. That room was ALSO "double booked". Annoyed, I glared at the front desk guy. He upgraded me to a "suite". I say "suite" because it was a step above a slum. The key didn't work, so I had to go back to the desk and someone had to manually unlock the door. When I finally got in, there was a huge cockroach in the bath tub. I called the front desk to get someone down to take care of the bug. *I* certainly wasn't going to be doing that, thanks.
The refridgerator had coke splatters all over the top of it (inside), there were splatters of SOMETHING on the cieling and walls, and drywall was missing from edges of walls. *sigh* There were stickers in the carpet from outside, so we were constantly stepping on them. *sigh*
The next morning I found out that Karen (Wilson) had no COLD water - it was ONLY hot - and not just hot, but scalding. Oh, and she had a roach visitor in her room too. Every person we ran into who was staying there had only horrible things to say. Sad.
While we were waiting for the show to start Saturday, we booked a room at the Motel 6. They had openings, thankfully. :) We showed saturday and promptly went back to the Red Roof Inn and checked out. Due to our complaints, we were given our stays for free. THANK GOODNESS. We were encouraged to write to their coroporate office (which we had planned to do).
After that, we checked into the Motel 6 (which was a HUGE upgrade, FYI) and went to eat lunch. Right after we were done, Karen said she didn't feel well and needed to go to Urgent Care. Karen and Shannon dropped me off, and off they went. :( Several hours later, Karen returned with medicine and was on the road to recovery. She had a nasty infection. :(
I enjoyed a nice quiet day at the Motel 6 with the dogs....
Sunday came, and I thought I had lost Chance when he caught whiff of Crush (she's in season). I was able to get him back thanks to Karen moving away with Crush.... He showed well. Obviously, well enough to take Winners Dog/Best of Winners. :) I know a few people were taking pictures, and Karen Harbert's husband Ron, was taking video yesterday. Not sure if he did the same today (i don't think he did). hopefully I'll have pictures to post soon. :)
So YAY for our first major. he now has 13 points, and needs just a major to finish and be Champion Chancey Pants :) I'm trying to find shows in CA this summer that might have majors as we speak :)
Oh, and Sedona didn't make the ribbons this weekend.... there were 8 open bitches. She had fun anyway - and loves to play showdog ! :)
And here for your viewing pleasure - the pictures I snapped along the way - most are blurry unfortunately, but some came out pretty ok :)
