over population
The fish had more babies today. *sigh* The male died the other day and the two were separated for a good while before that... so I shouldn't get more babies, but WHAT THE HECK am I supposed to do with all these fish?! I'm going to get a fish tank this weekend I think, and take some to work... but good golly these Mollies!! LOL

hi ho, hi ho, it's back to work I go....
While Friday was officially my first day back, today is the first day I get to do anything productive! I have to get my new classroom all set up for Meet the Teacher night tonight!!!
Being the good little suck up that I am, I baked chocolate chip cookies for the occasion. I met a small handful of parents last year, so I don't expect an arm load, but I'm prepared, just in case :)
I'm getting excited to meet the kids, yet I'm already missing the idea of the freedom of summer.... I keep reminding myself, it'll come around again.... :) The beauty of working in the schools! :)
On that note, I'd better go grab my shoes and get going.... busy busy (long) day ahead of me! :) Hopefully the dogs will forgive me for the extra long day away from home.... :)

Sedona's naughty little tail....
I knew that 'someone' had been surface munching the grass. I'd never caught anyone in the act to stop them... until today!
And this was the final damage after I got her attention.
Little turkey!

our next house....
from left to right in the picture, you've got a bedroom, another bedroom, and the loft....
the master bedroom window upstairs and the dining area in the kitchen below it... the living room window is all alone on the other side... LOTS of area to set up a nice patio set with a big ole umbrella to sit under! :)
street view of the "hood" :)
the front door, duh.
the other side of the door - the floor in the entry is Pergo, as is the kitchen. Not sure about the bathrooms....
And lastly, the living room, view into the kitchen/dining room and the stairs...Unfortunately they didn't photograph the individual rooms.... the downstairs bath is a cool red color, there is a HUGE laundry room downstairs, and under the stairs storage.... along with the 3 bedrooms and loft upstairs. The kitchen is barely visible, and you can see the pantry from this view, and part of the bay window.
The carpet looked darker in person than in these pictures.... I wonder if the carpet was replaced. The carpet in the house is actually a dark color (hooray!)
So here's the first glimpse of our new digs... I don't NEED all this space, but it's a good deal, and I'd MUCH rather rent from an individual than a crappy property management company.
Once I get pictures of the other rooms, I'll post those too... Not sure when I'll actually be able to move in, but it'll probably be no later than 8/15 if I had to guess....

moving..... yet again.
I feel like I move all the time. I hate moving. And I'm not moving because I *want* to! :(
I had a knock on the door this morning from someone who was verifying occupancy. He gave me the business card of a man he said knew what was going on with the house. HOORAY! Information!
I call this guy who tells me that the bank bought the house back and that they'll be asking me to move out of the house. He told me that I should be hearing from the lawyers involved in the coming days, to discuss the situation. He also mentioned relocation assistance. He said that the banks are offering "good sums of money" to folks in my situation, to help them relocate as fast as possible. Legally, I do have at least 90 days, I've learned... but if I can do it faster, they'll pay me - is basically what I'm getting out of it. That will help me to pay the deposit on the new house.
The new house (pending lease signing and such) is 5 miles closer into "town" as it were, out here... ;-)
The only real "bads" about it, is that it's a two story house, it has one full bathroom, and the kitchen and dining area are small. It's a nice house though, overall, so I'm excited. :) It's 1800 square feet, has nice carpet and some nice paint. 2 of the bedrooms have awful light blue walls that I don't care for and will hopefully get to paint. The master bedroom is partially painted, so that will have to be repainted. (hooray - it's one of the awful blue rooms). It has a nice sized loft upstairs too.
I'll post pictures once all is settled and in concrete - or if I can manage to get photos before that! ;-)

blog grumbles...
Kaye's post to my recent blog about my stupid home in stupid foreclosure brought this to light again...
There are a good sized handful of folks whose blogs I read and WISH I could reply to, but for some reason if it's set with a drop down box on how you want to post a comment, (using LiveJournal, etc)...... something about the way it's set up does not allow me to post comments.
If someone knows how I can get around this REALLY ANNOYING issue, I'd appreciate it, because I can't find any solutions in Bloggers FAQ's... :(
So Kaye, your blog is one of those - and I so badly wanted to post about your pretty puppies yesterday, but I couldn't, and I'm sorry! :(
I hope Blogger fixes that soon - it's mucho annoying!

off the market
I called and found out today that my house DID sell on the 1st... wondering now when someone will TELL me about what's going on, and whether I'll have any way to get my deposit back from the guy who owned the house (but didn't pay his mortgage).
So technically as I sit, I have no lease, I have no set rent (yay), and I have no one to contact about any of it. I kind of feeling like I'm "squatting" in a house...
These are strange times, to be sure.

AZ Govt idiots
So the Governor (Jan Brewer - who stepped in after Janet Napolitano moved on up) signed bills into law last night....
One of which allows people to bring guns into bars.
She DIDN'T sign the bill that would allow people to have sparklers and other small fireworks. Her reason? She was looking out for the safety of the population.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?
Can I move yet?? *sigh*

dog show war wounds...
It was a week ago yesterday since my head became "close" with the evil bungee cord from hell...
I didn't post about it, but many heard the story already.... Guess it needs to go down in blog infamy (the blog is a chronicle of things that happen to me afterall, right?? ;-) )....
Friday June 3rd, after the show, the dogs and I went back to the car to pack up. I got the dogs all loaded up in the car, and was securing things down before I left. I had a soft crate that I was bungeeing down to the top of one of the wire crates. I'm short. This is a known fact. So I tossed the one end of the bungee cord towards the passenger side, over the soft crate. I tugged it lightly and it felt like it caught, so I pulled it towards the front of the crate (towards me). I had it almost latched down when the back end of the bungee flew forward, nailing me just to the right of center in my forehead.
As is common when you get hurt, you hold the hurting area and double over. As I turned and doubled over, I saw a lady walking a Boxer past. She stopped and asked if I was ok. I stood up and moved my hand from my head. Her eyes got big and said "you're bleeding pretty bad". I wiped my hand across my forehead and it came back bloody, and then I saw the blood down my arm.
I keep paper towels in the car, so I grabbed some and started applying pressure. She went back to her motorhome to get some ice. On her way, she asked someone about a first aid station. When she came back to me, I had finished packing up the rolling cart and had moved my car. I reparked in the shade (had to leave the dogs in the car, and it was about 11:30am - thankfully it was literally right across from the beach!!) and went to the first aid station.
It'll scar, but I'll have a "dog show war wound" to tell stories about... LOL It still is tender, but is healing up well... I'm just glad I didn't have to have Frankenstein stitches in my forehead! ;-)
This is another testament that dog people are the best people. :)

July 5th - Ventura, CA - home
Chance was RWD again to the Smith's dog so no dog show news... Jane and Samantha Nye came again today and brought Jewel, Sedona's full sister from the 1st breeding of Carbon and Phoebe. I have only seen pictures of her, and they were old at that! So here are some pictures of the pretty girls!!!

They share a similar look.. it was fun to see them next to each other. Samantha said that Jewel used to be slender like Sedona too - so there's hope she'll get a body afterall ;-)
here's a nice photo of Jewel free stacked at the fairgrounds...
Tucker and Jewel - Tucker is Kota's half brother by Trooper out of Dottie I think....
On the trip back, I decided to take pictures again - and again, Capital Records from the OTHER angle ;-)
The other side of the "church" of Scientology - pretty cool building, if you ask me.
and that cool structure... still don't know what it was...
Chancey sleeping in the crate on the way back... tired poopy he was....
a nice shot of the windmills....
There was a fire along the I-10...

I could feel the heat on my window as I took this picture... it was pretty intense.

The mountains in the distance are in Arizona.... About this point I was longing to get to my couch....
Ahhh, back in my home state :)
Arizona Welcomed me :)
It was a long drive home - I got home a bit before 11pm last night. Overall it was a great time - I had a great time. Despite losing. Just goes to show, winning isn't everything ;-) LOL

Saturday July 4th - Ventura/Malibu, CA
Saturday we had an 8am ring time. We all love 8am ring times, huh? :) I snapped a picture of the beastie - I thought he was lookin' pretty nice :) Still lost to the Smith's dog again - but he wasn't even reserve on Saturday. :( Boo.
I have a friend who lives in Whittier, CA who i've known since 1996. His name is Julio, and we met when we both had CRX's... :) Long story. Anyway, he came down to the area to spend the 4th of July with me. We haven't seen each other in 11 years!!!
We headed out to Malibu. He wanted to go to a place called Neptune's Net so we headed out along the PCH (which I had never driven before!!!!) Do take a minute to go to the website and check out the pictures.... They're amazing, and the food was great! We had a nice Lobster dinner and shared a pitcher of Pilsner :)
This was the view from our seat at Neptune's Net....
and a zoomed in view of the water...
After we ate, we went across the street to the beach, so we could let the dogs play. After the experience on Thursday with the dogs and the water, I wasn't expecting much... I expected the dogs to steer clear of the water....
This picture is a PERFECT example of the excitement Sedona showed for the water...
a photograph of some Pelicans flying overhead...
a seagull flying just over the waves... *sigh* how beautiful is this??
Kota, being the gooddog, got let off leash first. I had forgotten their actual COLLARS at the hotel room, so I couldn't put them on flexi-leads... They're pretty good with recalls, so i figured I'd give it a shot. I had no doubt about Kota - my super obedient wonder-dog! :)
You can see how excited Kota got about the beach too! I don't remember him being so excited about it when we went in Oregon!
In this picture, you can see Kota mid-jump from the water.... I thought it was too funny! :) Chance was very interested by this point too!
The beautiful surf...
Kota, running free, loving his Independence Day romp on the beach...
Next to be released was Sedona. She's got a pretty darned good recall and is remarkably obedient given her general demeanor of "I'll do it when I want to".. LOL She TORE off running and I don't think the smile has left her face YET!
Sedona and Kota face off in a frap on the beach... what a wonderful time they were having, as Chance watches...
Sedona REALLY surprised me with how daring she was with the water! You can see, Kota is at about where the water was coming in, and Sedona just charged those waves sometimes! She only scared me once, thankfully!
Finally, I decided to let Chance off lead too... I've never had a problem with a recall on him, and with the other two being fairly solid, and knowing he'll follow them, I wasn't concerned. Not to mention, we were the only folks on the beach! :) Commence insanity - the dogs began to have a BLAST!!!!
Running and frapping together on the beach - what better way to spend the 4th of July??
The trio heading towards the water again...
I had a great time just watching THEM have a great time... Julio and I laughed SO HARD as we watched the dogs play on the beach!
My dogs are NOT water dogs. If given a baby pool, they spend more time in it if it's empty... You'd never have known that on this trip!
Run puppies run! They had SUCH an awesome time!!!!
and the recall! ;-)
out playing in the surf again...
can you see the intoxication in her eyes??? :) I almost feel bad for not living nearer to a beach so she can play!!!!
Sedona and Chance coming back towards me...
out playing and running again...
such a beautiful sight, watching three beautiful Cardigans running on the beach....
Kota found something interesting to roll in... *sigh* stinky dog!!
daring little critters!!
go Sedona go!
such beautiful waves...
After a little while, we got back in the car and decided to go find a place to watch the sunset... We went up the PCH a bit to Pt Mugu where we found a pretty quiet little chunk of beach.... we sat down in the sand and just enjoyed the evening on the beach....

and the beginning of the sunset progression....

and the end of the sunset progression... it was beautiful. simply beautiful.
and the mountain behind us across the street.
It was a great day - the sights, the food, the company, the fun.... :) This day made the whole trip well worth while ;-)
