my most beautiful dogs...

Back in 2003 i took Dakota with me to the dog show in Dixon when I was showing Ollie. Kota might have been 4 months old. I happened to have been set up next to a photographer so i chated with them. I ended up getting my dogs picture taken by her... (see below). Her name is Barb.

I had another one taken when Kota was 8 months old...

In October of 05 I picked up Orion. At a northern California CWC club meeting, i took Orion to Dixon, and Barb was there. He was 14 weeks old, if memory serves.

When I saw that she was going to be at the SoCal shows, I was so excited :) She's always done a lovely job with my dogs, so I hunted her down! :)

Below is Sedona at 7.5 months (not quite, but close enough)

Didn't those come out WONDERFULLY????????
I couldn't be more pleased :)

stinkin dogs

man, to travel to a dog show requires SO MUCH MORE CRAP for the dog than it does for me... Crates (qty 4.. yes 4. 1 wire crate for Maya, 1 wire crate for Sedona, 1 portable crate for Sedona, 1 plastic varikennel for travel), table, arm, dryer bag, grooming bag, dog food. For me? 1 suitcase, water, some food, and my dress clothes on hangers. Darned dogs ;-) I'm excited.. tho fearful that my friend Kim will think that I live like a slob! Oh well. As long as Kota is taken care of, I'm good :)
I will take my camera and my laptop... hope to upload pictures nightly... so you all can live vicariously :)
Ahh and the weather...

a very mellow Saturday afternoon

On boring cold Saturday afternoons like this, I tend to bring out my camera and take shameful amounts of pictures of my dogs... I should be BATHING them, but it's too cold... and I don't wanna. :P

One of her favorite spots

They are never far from one another :)

a photo collage of 2 dogs owned by an obsessive dog freak

They're starting to lay in the crates a lot together... quite cute, I think.

Playingon the new dogbed... They love it more thanI thought they would!

Little pretty pretty princess on her throne :)

Wresting matches ensued...

yes, I'm a weirdo, but i raised her drinking from a "hamster bottle". My dogs always have spilled bowls intheir crates, but I hate to have them be without water... Kota will drink from it too, but not as often...

A little blurry, but a really cute shot, I thought :)

A day at the resort...

Today I met Juniper out at the Wigwam... walked around and talked... Snapped these pictures while we were out :)
I think this might be the best one of her taken today...

Her head is cocked up a little, but another good picture

And not to be outdone, Kota wanted in on the fun too

Another nice shot of Dakota

Just a pretty picture :) Love my boy :)

Just standing there... looking at something in the distance. (not to worry, she was wearing a collar & leash... I edited it out.)

Again.. the alert look as she looks at something else

Tomorrow i find and taxi Kathy Miller and her friend after the PF Changs Rock and Roll marathon in Tempe. Should be interesting.

Kathy Miller owns Dakota's littermate, Denali. I'll try to find a picture of her to post.

Collars by Kate

After much anticipation, I finally checked the mail and Kates collars were there!!!!!

Kota was the most cooperative on being a collar model... his sister took more work. He thinks the blue was a great choice .. Thanks Auntie Kate :)

Sedona modelling her collar... not as cooperative as her brother, but she's very thankful to have a collar that does not choke her ;-) Thanks Auntie Kate!!!

And this is one for the blooper reel.... I was trying to get the two of them, but it didn't work... ;-) An upclose (so close you can see the spittle on her whiskers close) shot ;-)

Thinking ahead

I just got off the phone with Kim (Shira). We always have really lively and animated phone calls, but I am particularly excited for a few reasons...

I showed Kim the picture I posted yesterday of Sedona... just taken at random. I had been getting a lot of complimentary remarks on it, and I thought it looked really good too. Kim agrees, and then of course I started thinking about what I have ahead of me with her.

We start our conformation career together in just a short 15 days. It's been since March that I last stepped foot into a ring. Not to mention, when I'm stepping into it, I'm stepping into a huge ass Specialty... (do you see where I'm going with this?) I'm starting to really get excited/nervous/scared all at the same time. I didn't have this feeling with Orion... I did with Kota and Ollie though. I guess maybe I had a gut feeling about Orion... *shrug*

Anyway... I guess I was looking at the picture and kind of looking to see where her chest might land once she's mature... just imagining her as a mature adult... wow. The thought took my breath away... I can't wait, on one hand, and I dont' want her to get another day older on the other!

She's 10 days from being 7 months old... where did the time go!?!?!

Not moving afterall... The apartment idea fizzled... really like the house and for the sake of the dogs and all, I'm going to stay in the house I"m in. A plus for me, since I wont' have to pack and move! ;-) First time I've not moved at the end of a lease... kind of weird.

I started digging for job leads again in Oregon and Washington (tho I definately think that Oregon is first on my list... ). Not feeling very hopeful, and am starting to wonder whether I'll have to move there first somehow....

Well, off to check in to the class.... that's another subject I'll save for another post... *sigh*

a visitor and other things

We had Kim and Jazmine over today for a "playdate".. Jaz is a great girl... goofy and happy... but noisy! ;-)

She LOVED the laser light.... take a look!

Jaz & the laser light

And also, here's the clip from when we went on the walk on New Years day.... oh they had such fun!

Happy New Year!

Below, is Sedona rummaging for toys in the new "toy area" of the kitchen.

I keep them penned in the kitchen now, using the x-pen as the barrier. It allows Sedona and Dakota to be out of crates for the 10-11 hours I'm gone per day, but yet it's still on a very cleanable material (lineoleum) for Sedona's messes. She doesnt' mess in her crate during the day, and she's still learning about being in the kitchen for the day, so we're adjusting... *sigh*

Here's Kota laying on the couch while Jaz was playing with Sedona. Kota got a little weird when she'd get too close, so we watched them closely.

And here's Kota laying in the living room chewing a bone while Jaz played with Sedona (sensing a trend??)

Here's a shot that was taken at quite a distance tonight... I brushed her out and tossed her on the table to see what she's looking like, since our show is getting closer, and I was pleased :) THIS is what I've been waiting for.... :) Pretty, nice angles... level topline (minus the "v".. that's hair, I promise), nice bone and forechest... she'll have a nice full chest when it comes in, but until then she's still a little leggy... I can't wait to get her out :)

A nice long walk on New Years Day

We took a long long walk today and stopped at a park about half way through the walk... I have a video too that I need to upload, but in the meantime, this will work ;-)
