Chance turned 4 on the 20th (while Carolyn and Tom were here visiting). In honor of the occasion, we shared some ice cream with the crew (Dakota, Sedona, Chance, Molly, Kady and Audrey).
Happy birthday, big blue boy!
He's a sweet sweet boy who is a mommas boy through and through. He adds a bit of dorkiness to the household that would not otherwise be there. He was an adorable baby puppy, and has grown into a lovely boy full of confidence and goodness. He finished his Championship at 2 and has been the cheerleader since. In his fourth year, I look forward to putting titles at the end of his name. He might even come back out and try for some more GCH points (he earned 1 I think, in Flagstaff).
I love you, my big blue baby boy! :)

Apache Trail to Roosevelt Lake
After leaving the ghost town, we drove the Apache Trail towards Roosevelt Lake. I used to live there, but hadn't been back since I was in the 2nd grade (aka - a million years ago).
Along the way, we stopped and took in the scenery of 'the road less traveled'.
We stopped by 3 lakes along the way - this was the first... Canyon Lake.
Not long after this point in the road, we went through a little town called Tortilla Flat. Not far after that, the road turned to dirt. For the longest 22 miles of my life. LOL
Along the longest dirt road in history was some of the most beautiful country I'd seen in a long time.
If you look at the little specks in the picture, you can see the beautiful orange box :)
The 2nd of the three lakes - Apache Lake.
And at the end of the longest dirt road ever was Roosevelt Dam.
The Roosevelt Lake dam was finished almost 100 years to the day that we visited. I thought that was a pretty cool coincidence. :)
Goldfield Ghost Town - Apache Junction, AZ
On President's Day I took Carolyn and Tom to Goldfield Ghost Town. We sat at the Saloon for hours (2?) before we were served. Mental note, DON'T eat at the Saloon and Steakhouse at the Ghost Town! Service was the worst EVER. As we waited, we took pictures of the scenery... :)
Then we finally got our food after meeting some very nice folks from Vancouver Island :) After snarfing our food (because we were about to eat our arms off!) we then walked around at the Ghost Town (which was FAR from a ghost town with a gazillion people milling around).
C & T taking photos of some of the attractions below....
Carolyn, the jail bird :)
the little jail, complete with an authentic cowboy ;-)
It was interesting - the ghost town - but over rated in my opinion. The scenery was nice, which saved the experience I think. After we left the ghost town, we headed into the 'wilds' and drove to Roosevelt Lake. Photos to come. :)
