The no good, very bad blogger

I've officially been the very worst blogger in all blogdom.  It's been a tough couple of months with school in my defense, and well...  life in general has been a ride.  It's easier to update Facebook most of the time - except when you have so many cute pictures you want to catalog....  ;-)

Which leads me to.....

Most already know (Facebook again) that I added a new kid to the mix this month.  Coedwig Tanalyn's Morning Glory is a Thunder (CH Pecan Valley Blue Thunder) daughter out of my own Chance's littermate, Susie (CH Coedwig's Black Eyed Susan).  When I saw that Leda had 3 blue girls in the repeat litter (first litter created 2 lovely blue girls: Kitty (CH Coedwig's Silver Lynx) and Sandie (GCH Coedwig's A Walk On The Beach) I thought I would ask her about the status of the 3 blue girls in her most recent litter.  I needed another dog like I needed another hole in my head, honestly, but hey.....  you never know if you don't ask, right??  (That's what mom always said ;-) ).

(that's her, right up front between Susie's leg and the black puppy)

That's when I was put a top the list for the blue girls.  *EEK*

As time wore on (they were born 12/27), I started getting cold feet... telling myself that there wouldn't be one I'd like enough to take home....
Alas... videos came and there WAS one I liked.  And NOT the one I expected to like.
"Red Collar Girl" became "Glory" and that was that....

She's sweet, and cute, and funny and fits in nicely with the pack!  She and Mia made FAST friends and Mason is learning to play with someone so little now too.  Chance is not the only blue in the house now, which is fun... :)  I've always heard blue show girls are harder to get your hands on than that proverbial needle in the haystack, so I grabbed mine and ran.  :)  She's just a baby, but she holds a lot of promise.  Leda says she reminds her a lot of Sandie when she was her age.

All together now... "AWWWWW" :)

and one for the 'how is this possibly comfortable' files....

"Whatcha doin' Uncle Chance?  Huh?  Huh??"

Mia has taken to her new little sister quite well :)

As has Sedona - (she needed her 5 seconds of fame too! ;-) )

Glory got her first chewey today.... :)

Varying shades of tan points :)

The EYE.

 Chan enjoying his chewey

Sis enjoying hers too!  "Look ma!  No Hands!!"

"Whatchoo got there MayMay?"

Little dog, big chewey....  big dog, little chewey....

The little sandwiched between the two bigs :)

Ko missed out on this photo session - his booty is seen in the last few photos.. he was off minding his own, intently working on his own chewey ;-)  He is well, albeit even more gray.  :)

I turned in my Capstone project last week....  my last major academic paper for my graduate program.  I still have a few things left I have to do, but nothing that I will receive an actual grade on... just things that are required by the program to compile.  There's a light at the end of the grad school tunnel....  it's close enough to be a tease, but not close enough to touch yet ;-)

I'm on Spring Break - and what did *I* do for Spring Break?  Get pneumonia.  Yep.  It sucked.  I'm at the 'ewww, you've got yourself a nasty cold' phase now, but it's miles better than the 'EWWW you've got nasty pneumonia'.  :)

Dog show wise, Mason sits at 10 points and his majors... Mia has 1 point still.  She's been growing up nice and slowly, but I've went ahead and entered her in the Turquoise cluster in April.  Mason too.

I'm starting to work on landscaping plans for the back yard - looking at trees and plants and such that i'd like back there...  there will be a major overhaul in the back yard in the next year - but I'm looking forward to having my own little utopia back there :)  The front has come along nicely as well....

In January I put up a fence to contain the beasties :)

and this super cool lawn ornament was brought down in January to top off the look! :)

I'll try to do better... I will...

The Chronicles of Adam 6/06/11 & other things too!

LOOK!  Look what we have!!!!

TWO UPPY EARS!!

Now he's looking like a big dog...

despite being in the process of losing every last hair on her body, she's still beautiful... <3

I had to take Kota to the vet tonight.  Poor Ko had a nasty oozy thing on his face.  Turns out he managed to get himself quite the angry hot spot...  causing an icky dermatitis from his lower jaw line to his inner ear edge.  It's swollen and red and ANGRY.  We're hoping to see significant improvement now that it's cleaned up and we're treating it.  I'd never experienced a hot spot before.  Leave it to KOTA to be the one who would have it.  Poor Ko.  He is ALWAYS the dog who has the odd things happen.

The Chronicles of Adam 06/05/11 - 8 weeks

They say that time flies when you're having fun...  I guess that's what has been happening!  It seems unreal that my first 'litter' is already 8 weeks old and would be flying off to new homes soon (had there been an actual 'litter').  Grandma Kim comes in on the 14th to see the squirt, which should be exciting.

In so many ways he's like his mother...  he's not a snuggler (she's not either), she was a spitfire puppy (he's OH so like his mother here), he has the same 'termite' gene that his mother had (thankfully she outgrew it).  He thinks he's a big dog, but who can blame him since that's all he's ever known.  His pack has come to accept him and his antics (most of the time ;-) ).  He's a pretty trustworthy little puppy thus far..  he's not into shredding toys or eating walls (ahem, Sedona) though he has a selective listening problem ;-)  He's in the full throws of house training and is doing pretty well with it, considering his age!  We still have potty pads in prime locations in the house, but he's going outside to do his business with more and more consistency.  Once he's able to go through the doggie door, my life will change dramatically! :)

Without further adieu...  here's our boy :)

Ok, so this isn't 'our boy'.... this is Sedona at 8 weeks...  :)  I love being able to compare her and her son :)
He's taken to climbing on the big dogs when allowed...  sometimes on Chance, more often on Sedona and never on Kota.

Being evicted from his perch...
His normal spot...  but his EAR IS UP!  It fell back down, but it's getting there!!

too cute NOT to share...

Don't forget the goofy blue uncle

"are you SPYING on me??"

Playing with uncle Chancey

showing off his sleeping quarters
And this is what I woke up to this morning....

The Chronicles of Adam 5/30/11 - 7 week photos

Adam is 7 weeks old now...  seems impossible that the time has flown by so quickly.  seems like just yesterday I was taking poor Sedona's temperature 3 times a day in preparation for "the big drop".  :)  Now we are actively working on potty training!  Crazy!

Without further adieu...  the little big man at 7 weeks old....

Every day I see different things I like and don't like...  he's LOVING having the freedom to be with the big dogs all of the time now, and managed well in the crate to the vets office yesterday.  When I left for the store today, I left him in the big wire crate in the living room and he did great.  :)  I really am quite lucky - aside from the whole c-section, pneumonia thing, he's been quite easy :)

The Chronicles of Adam 5/29/11

Trotting around the yard

Comin' to get me again...

Uh-Door-Uh-bull...

7 weeks of cuteness

"yea - I'm cute.. whatcha gonna do about it??"
I plan on getting some stacked shots of the kid tomorrow in honor of turning 7 weeks old today.  He got his first shot today and was adored by his many fans at the vets office...  :)

He's officially being potty trained - going outside as frequently as I remember to take him...  ;-)  I have many funny videos of him being taught that he's not top dog...  he's a persistent little guy...  ;-)  Many thanks to the pack for teaching him kindly, that he is not ALL that...  ;-)

Onward towards week 8...  let's see what fun THIS week brings :)
