out of candy in 26 minutes! Halloween 06 went quick for us!!

I got home, pulled in the trash can from outside, poured the candy into a basket and the droves started.... 26 minutes later over 200 peices of candy were gone!
I did, however, get these pictures!

The "baddog" and the "cowdog" in the doorway waiting for Trick Or Treaters

Looking for more kids!

Behind the gate

Kota was NOT thrilled about having to wear the hat!

The front of Kota and the back of Sedona ;-)

She was SO excited about all of our visitors!!

Standing guard, waiting for the next visitor

SO much happier without the darned hat!

a very cute black puppy - shameless cute dog pictures

Laying in the office yesterday evening, so pretty ;-)

Lookit how grown up she looks!

Trying really hard to look sweet and innocent... (thinking to myself...was this before or after she took a huge dump in the house?)

Look at her mane!!!!

Looking at Kota in the distance.... see the hole in the baby gate behind her?? no, she didnt' do that... that's the work of a certain really cute blue dog who no longer lives with us!

See the color on her head near her ears? That's what I was talking about Kate.... Goofy smiley girl :)

9-6 sucks ballz

today is my first day of the 9-6 shift since stupid day light savings time went into affect, and I hate it already.... :( I have to work the same hours my branch does, and since my branch is in San Francisco, I have to work THEIR hours... :( Not happy! :(

a life stopping headache

a headache to end all headaches... 3 beers and THAT? WTF!!!!!!

It wasn't until about 5 that I felt human... good thing I don't have to be at work until 9am Monday.... I switch from the 8-5 shift to the 9-6 shift as of Monday due to the time change everywhere but here in Arizona. not sure how I feel about it... traffic may be lighter which may be good, but the thought of (worst case) getting home at 7pm kind of sucks.

watched a lot of Friends today.... thank goodness for owning all 10 seasons ;-) I'm up to disk 1 of season 8 :)

I have two sleeping shiny black dogs on the office room floor and I can't help but sit in amazement... such beautiful animals.... I'm so lucky :)

a Halloween party

the resident prego nun ;-) (Dan)

The hippy, he-devil and witch (Jenny, Dorian & Tonya)

gangsta, Starbucks guy, construction worker, "father" and nun (Dan, Elliott, Kelly, Mauli, & Dan)

the group of gals from work... Kathryn, April, Kelly, me, Jenny (she's from Seattle, a friend of Terra) & Terra

my he devil ;-) I teased him about being my he devil ;-) This is Dorian

Terra the lady bug and Tonya the witch

The headstone of George (the guy at work I've had all those problems with..)

Dan lost his nun suit and went with a combo of other costumes ;-) w/ Kelly I had a good time and am glad that I went.... it is always hard for me to get out of the house, but I had a great time with co-workers and friends :) Never been to a Halloween party before ;-) And now you all get to see some of the folks I work with ;-)

Kate wants to talk about waves...

So Kate wanted to talk about waves.... I dont' think I've seen waves this obnoxious.... right over her shoulders... kota had waves on his butt (still does) but I've never had wavy shoulders....

And here is an illustration of the waves going FROM her shoulders all the way TO her rear... *sigh* damned waves.... Phoebe doesn't have waves... Carbon doesn't have waves... where the hell did these waves come from?!?!?!

You can see the waves in her topline here (oops, i cut out her face). She's getting better on the table and she's baiting now, which is nice

The other picture is better of her topline, but still, you can see her freaky waves....

So kate, you STILL wanna talk about waves?? Blue doesn't have any (you lucky kid!) and doesn't Gogo just have butt waves?? please tell me, someone.... anyone.... that she'll outgrow these damned shoulder waves. :(

a pre Halloween post

Sedona didnt' want to be outdone by her Blue-tee-ful sister... so here's her "Cow" costume

Not so sure how she feels about the cow costume

Proudly displaying her costume

And below were the entries for the pumpkin carving contest at work today.... interesting... and interesting what someone did with the poor black pumpkin later in the day (photo withheld to protect innocent eyes)

This was the winner.... very well done, I thought :) Believe it or not, it was done by a very quiet blonde in the office... she named him "MC Pumpkin Head" and it says on his "cap" "Bling bling" LOL

a punkin' carvin' contest ;-)

At work tomorrow, we're having a pumpkin carving contest... they bought the pumpkins and we got to take them home, carve them, and bring them back for judging... I rather like my idea and how it turned out....

Is it obvious what I have on my mind this fall?? I MISS THE LEAVES DAMN IT!!! ;-)

officially an AZ resident

I got plates (put my GTCORGI ones on order) and got my license... the picture even came out good! Can you imagine?
AZ does something interesting.... if you've ever been licensed in the state, they keep that DL number assigned to you... meaning.... since I got my DL at age 17 in AZ, and was licensed here, when I went today to get a new license, I was issued the same number... it's cool, because I've always remembered that DL number ;-) Never was able to remember the CA DL number ;-) The lady even commented on how I looked 14 in my previous picture (she must have had it there in the records! LOL).
I went to the dentist... had a bazillion x-rays done (18) and got a lecture from the dentist about how I was going to get periodontal disease if I didnt' start flossing more (I floss 2-3 times a week).. and how I'd probably require a "deep cleaning".... then she looked at my mouth and said "wow, your teeth and gums look really good!" Eat your words Doc! I dont' know that I like her. I'll get my teeth cleaned by her but I may look for another dentist. I dont' like dentists who talk down to me. I take care of myself.... idiot.
Opened my new checking and savings accounts with Wells Fargo today... so that when I move to Oregon I'll have access to a bank rather than be in this crappy position with the credit union I'm in now... I had a lot done before noon ;-)
Cleaned my desk last night, did all this today... and now I'm geeking out and playing WoW ;-) Life isnt' too bad today. And before I know it, it'll be the weekend ... YAY!

Well todays off to a shitty start

7:30 am and I get a phone call from the dentist where I’m supposed to have a 10am appointment…. Only to tell me that they don’t’ work with Cigna HMO… only PPO. I’ve had the appointment for TWO WEEKS and they tell me the day of the appointment?? Luckily I found a dentist who would take me today at noon… but not as close to my house as I would have preferred….

And then yesterday I got a letter in the mail stating that one of my credit cards had been cancelled due to inactivity. I called this morning (this is one I had paid off thankfully) and they said that because I hadn’t used the card in 6 months they closed the account. When I asked what I needed to do to get it opened back up again the not so nice lady told me that for “no reason do they open the accounts back up once they’ve been closed”. Whatever… their loss, CERTAINLY not mine! One less credit card over my shoulders. “Well it was in the terms and agreements” little miss snotty pants says to me… Oh yea, like I memorize that crap! Grr. Oh well.

18 weeks

The "D" litter is 18 weeks.... here's our weekly photo shoot... she's gotten additional coat this week, and I've finally got her to BAIT! Yay!!

EEK she looks like a big dog ^ not sure whether i like that or not!!!

Lookit this pretty face!!!!

A shot of her front and that adorable face ;-) So perty :) I wub her :)

can the weekend go on forever please?

This morning I was awakened to the lurching sounds of Dakota ... you all know that "infamous" sound when dogs are getting ready to throw up... Yep, nothing wakes you up faster!!

Played WoW a good part of the morning (aka all morning) and just came in from clearing the paths in the backyard (over time the dogs spread the rock all over, covering a good part of the trails) and cleaning up poo and watering down the rocks... Looks like a whole new backyard if I do say so myself ;-) Had to come in and turn the A/C on however, because i was a tad on the warm side, even though it is BEAUTIFUL outside (in the mid 80's MAYBE).

in washing and drying Sedona yesterday I noticed something interesting.... her undercoat on her body is black, but on her tail is light... weird.

I'll be getting 18 week pictures of her later... she's gotten a lot of coat this week :)

I put them both on Missing Link starting yesterday.... I liked what InFlight was doing for Kota's coat, so I'm wondering if Missing Link will do the same... it's a product test I guess ;-) I'm also wondering if it will clear up what little bit of puppy dander little miss has... it's mostly gone, but sometimes I see little flakes (or maybe those are mine! ;-) hee hee).

I think I'm going to go sit in the living room, listen to some TV and work on my scarf some.... enjoy the beautiful day :)

a lazy Saturday

I washed and blew dry both dogs today... after Tuesday excitement of hiking they were both very dirty...

I keep wanting to go out and go to Costco, but I know I dont' have the money to do it. I think I will just wait and go during lunch on Monday to get Dog Food. Looks like grocery shopping will have to wait.

Supposedly getting a new entertainment center tomorrow from the guy at work... We'll see if he flakes on me or not. men.

a new day

You know what frustrates me? When I'm in a perfectly harmoneous place and people ask me "are you ok?" WTF people? Because I'm not bouncing off the walls and smiling a huge cheese ball smile, I'm NOT ok? *sigh* I'm so happy it's Friday... can't wait to NOT go to work tomorrow :) Luckily today seems pretty slow for my branch, which is allowing me to peruse recipes and knitting stuff and dog stuff and everything that is NOT work related ;-) hee hee.
Sedona is approaching the back door and tapping on it more and more when she needs to go out... I tell her often how much I appreciate it.... but when she does her tapping right after coming in... three times in a row, i tend to blow her off some. I can't believe I've had her for 10 weeks! She's 18 weeks this weekend and i got her at barely 8 weeks :) She's so silly and goofy and lovey... but she does worry... a lot more than Kota or Rion ever did! A girl thing maybe? A Phoebe daughter thing?? who knows.
She's set to start Beginner Obedience at PetSmart (the closest Obed. class I could find on a weekend day) on the 4th of November and I'm so excited to finally get her involved and around other people and other dogs. I wish I had started earlier... *sigh* oh well. I'm sure she'll be fine. I just want her to worry a little less.
Guess I should go find work to do.... more later probably.

Fun with Laser Lights

you MUST see Sedona having fun with the laser light

4 months old

Today, the Baledwr "D" litter is 4 months old.....

Baledwr C-Myste Desert Rose "Phoenix"
Baledwr Don't Make Me Blue "Blue"
Baledwr Double O Seven "Bond"
(my own) Baledwr Desert Sunset "Sedona"
and the other two boys whose registered names I do not know (but would like to)

Happy four months little ones :) My how time flies :)

**edit**
I found out that Morris is now Baledwr Downie and is called Gordon or Gordie and Norton is still Norton, but no registered name yet....

recap on yesterdays trips and other thoughts

I had the most wonderful day yesterday... I woke up at 5am, left the house at 6am and drove to Sedona. It took me 3.5 hours to get there, but I kept telling myself that it was ok... I was in no hurry. It was much cooler there than it was in the valley, which I loved. I loved the smell of the Northern air.
Our first stop was in my old "stomping" grounds out along Dry Creek Road. It's MUCH less populated so I knew I wouldn't be running into people all over. I wanted to take pictures of the dogs on the red rocks, and I did. We wandered around there for about 25 minutes then we headed north into Oak Creek Canyon. The canyon is known for it's tree covered highway (89a) and the beautiful red rock mountains that tower above. We stopped at the West Fork hiking trail and wandered around there for quite a while (2.5 hours). I often had to stop myself from walking fast and thinking fast. I reminded myself that I was in no hurry and that I needed to relax and enjoy my day. I took time to take deep breaths of the clear air and to listen to the sounds of the forest. It was amazing. I took tons of pictures and really enjoyed myself. It was magically calming and soothing. On the way back from the hike, we stopped along the creek (off the path) and I sat out on big red rocks while the dogs played in the creek. It was so .... soothing? no. Calming? no. it was almost like a repair of my soul. Weird? maybe.
On my drive back, i hated to leave the beauty and the tranquility of the area but I knew I could carry the thoughts back with me.... and that I did :) I got a call from the Higley Unified School District and scheduled an interview with them for 10/24 at 3:45pm. It would be nice to get that job because it would take me back into IT and it would make me A LOT closer to home. I'll keep good thoughts and relaxing vibes going until I get that interview taken care of.
Then when I was just entering phoenix, around 3pm, I called the guy I've seen off and on from work. I called him to see if we could get together. He didn't call back until after 6pm. When he DID call, he wanted me to go to his house. I told him I didn't want to drive anymore he was whiney. He's very high maintenance. he pouted, but I was unrelenting. I didn't want to drive anymore. He whined some more, but I proceeded to make my dinner and do some knitting.
Then talking with another friend here at work today, we were talking about love and how when we're looking for it, we only get disappointment, but when we stop searching, it comes to us. I disagree. I haven't been looking, and I happened upon this whiney co-worker guy who is FUN, but for some reason grates on my nerves sometimes. Maybe I'm just not ready? Geez, it's been a long time since the x and I broke up... but I guess everyone deals with things in their own time. I stopped looking when I realized that I wasn't ready, which was quite a while ago. this other co-worker said he's going ot make me some copies of some CD's to listen to... I'll see if that helps. I would LIKE another relationship, but I don't think I'm ready yet. I get lonely sometimes, yes, but more than that, I actually enjoy being alone. Eh. I was just bothered by the whiney guy. He should have offered, if he wanted to see me so bad, to drive out to my house (in my opinion) rather than telling me that I was just coming up with excuses. That really annoyed me. There was no excuse. I didn't want to drive anymore. End of story. Why must men be so frickin' GRRRRRRR.

the fun match was..... fun :)

Sedona, for the most part, kept all four on the ground (it's hard, you know, in grass!). You can click HERE for pictures taken at the fun match, courtesey of Nicole :)

I took Dakota and it was nice to get HIM out in the sun and fresh air too, and he LOVES dog shows and showing off, so it was a good time. All in all, Sedona didn't win, but she did really well and had a great time. We lost to a very nice 5 month old puppy dog named Connor (Cashew's breeding). He'll finish quickly... i liked him quite a bit :)

After coming home I realized once again that my garage was in complete and utter disarray, so I decided to rearrange and clean some... It's amazing how much of a difference just an hour can make :) I have a dog side and an "everything else" side now :) All the cricket carcasses are out of the garage (not all, just the ones that were visable ;-) ) and it actually isn't embarrassing to have my garage door open now ;-)

Enjoy the photos... I'm going to be a geek for the rest of the afternoon :)

Signed Sedona up for Beginner Obedience... since Puppy ran through 5 months, and since the guy who signed me up knew just how smart Corgi's can be, he bumped me up to the Beginnner class, despite the fact that she wont' be 5 months until the middle of the course :) You're supposed to be 10 weeks -5 months in Puppy Obedience, and 5 months and up for Beginner. :) I think she'll do great. It'll be a good challenge for her (and me too!)

Saturday, October 14, 2006

Since we'll be at a fun match for her 17th week, I took pictures early... after a bath and blow dry :)

After the bath, I left her in the yard to do as she needed to (stressful situation = have to potty) so I followed her around with the camera and got a couple of cute shots :)

Pretty pretty girl :)
